THE DESCENDANTS OF JOSEPH I’ANSON
AND
SARAH HALSEY.
JOSEPH I’ANSON, of St. Laurence Pountney, E.C., born 18th
December, 1704; died 10th February, 1766. Married, on 7th
December, 1752, Sarah, daughter of Edward Halsey, of Thames Street, London.
She died on 1st February, 1762, aged 40.
Their Son –
EDWARD JANSON, of Stamford Hill, Co. Middlesex, changed the spelling
of his name to janson. He was born 26th June, 1755, and died
14th March, 1813. He married, on 24th April, 1777,
Mary, daughter of Thomas Horne, of Tottenham. They had five children.

HALSEY JANSON, of Warwick road, Upper Clapton (eldest son of Edward Janson
and Mary Horne), born 16th June, 1779; died 5th January,
1847. he married, on 30th April, 1805, Lucy lloyd, who died
1st June, 1857. They had ten children.

HENRY JANSON, of Clayhill, Walthamstow (second son of Halsey Janson and
Lucy Lloyd), born 15th October, 1812; died 27th December,
1899. He married twice, (1) on 23rd June, 1847, his cousin Caroline,
daughter of Thomas Horne Janson. She died on 24th October, 1857,
s.p. On 6th October, 1868, he married (2) Rebecca Maria, daughter
of Abram Tozer, of Wanstead, by whom he had three children.

HALSEY JANSON (elder son of Henry Janson and Rebecca Maria Tozer) was born
18th June, 1871, and married, on 30th April, 1901,
Mary Caroline, only child of the late Sir Augustus Prevost, Bart., Director
of the Bank of England and Lieutenant of the City of London.
LIONEL EDWARD JANSON (younger son of Henry Janson and Rebecca Maria
Tozer) was born 20th May, 1878, and, on 14th July,
1906, married Margaret Caroline, daughter of Iltid Nichol, of Edge Grove,
Aldenham, Herts.
THOMAS HORNE JANSON, of Hurst Pierpoint, Sussex (second son of Edward
Janson and Mary Horne), born 22nd Maerch, 1785; died 21st
January, 1847. He married, on 22nd September, 1808, Sarah, daughter
of John Corbyn, of London, who died 2nd March, 1870. They had
four children.

Thomas Corbyn, born 1st July, 1809; died 23rd June,
1863. He married, 13th August, 1834, his cousin, Louisa, daughter
of Halsey Janson, of Clapton, having issue one son, who died in infancy.

FREDERICK HALSEY, born 8th February, 1813. Of whom presently.

Daughter –
Caroline, born 7th November, 1814; died 24th
October, 1857. She married, on 23rd June, 1847, her cousin,
Henry Janson, of Clayhill, Walthamstow.
FREDERICK HALSEY JANSON, F.L.S., F.S.S., D.L. for Tower Hamlets, Solicitor,
of Oak Bank, Chislehurst, President of the Incorporated Law Society in
1873-4, Master of the Leathersellers’ Company in 1871 (second son of Thomas
Horne Janson and Sarah Corbyn), born 8th February, 1813; died
1st May, 1913, aged one hundred years. This is the only
instance of a centenarian in the I’Anson family, although, as will be sen
by reference to the chapter entitled "Fragmenta Genealogica," there is
on record the death of the wife of one of the name in the North of Scotland
at a greater age. Frederick Halsey Janson married, at Hackney, Co. Middlesex,
on 11th July, 1847, Elizabeth Ann, daughter of Abraham Tozer;
she died on 5th February, 1889, aged 62. They had issue ten
children, four sons and six daughters.

THEODORE HALSEY JANSON, Vicar of Oldland, Co. Gloucester (eldest son of
Frederick Halsey Janson and Elizabeth Ann Tozer), born 5th November,
1852; died 20th September, 1888. He married, on 17th
January, 1882, Agnes Wemyess, daughter of the Rev. H. N. Ellacombe. Sghe
died on 17th July, 1892. They had issue two daughters.

FREDERICK ARTHUR JANSON, of Crayfield, Chislehurst, Kent (second son of
Frederick Halsey Janson and Elizabeth Ann Tozer), born 5th July,
1854. Married 20th April, 1892, Isabella Hannah, daughter of
the Rev. H. N. Ellacombe (by Emily Aprilla, his wife, daughter of General
James Thomas Wemyss), Hon. Canon of Bristol, Vicar of Bitton, Co. Glocester,
and Ruaral Dean. Now living, without issue, at Crayfield, Chislehurst.
ERNEST TOZER JANSON (third son of Frederick Halsey Janson and Elizabeth
Ann tozer), born 20th January, 1856, married 16th
February, 1882, Rupertia Emily, daughter of James Hill Bowen, Esq. They
had issue six children, three sons and three dughters.
